Misha (Moshe) Nodelman, Igor (Itzik) Epstein and Vitali Eberling bring together klezmer, folk, jazz, Latin and classical music.
Two violins and a guitar: DreyFertl brings together violinists Misha (Moshe) Nodelman and Igor (Itzik) Epstein with guitarist and arranger Vitali Eberling. The two violinists share a Jewish musical tradition.
Misha (Moshe) Nodelman was born in Leningrad and completed his concert diploma at the Cologne University of Music. He has served as first concertmaster of the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen since 2008.
Igor (Itzik) Epstein was born in Lithuania. He studied classical music and jazz as a jazz violinist, double bassist and musicologist at the S. Rachmaninov music college in Rostov-on-Don. He is the founder and director of the World Music and Klezmer Academy in Cologne.
Vitali Eberling was born in Stavropol in the North Caucasus. He studied jazz guitar in the Soviet Union and at a music college in Berlin, and contributes to the trio as both guitarist and arranger.
DreyFertl combines the expressive range of two violins with the sound of the guitar. Klezmer, folk, jazz, Latin and classical music meet in an emotionally rich concert programme.
